The Czech-German Fund for Future will support some 1,000 Czech and some more Slovak victims of Nazism after receiving 334,000 euros from the inheritance of former West-German social democrat Wolfgang Reinhard Storch, the fund said in a press release today. Most of the money was equally divided between the fund and the Maximilian-Kolbe-Werk charity. Both organisations will use it to help surviving victims of Nazism from the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Poland. In the Czech Republic, the financial help will be distributed in cooperation with the Living Memory organisation in one-off payments to people who were persecuted for racial and political reasons by the Nazis during WWII.
