The Czech foreign ministry has scrapped the office of the consular ombudsman who dealt with inquiries and suggestions for the improvement of services of Czech diplomatic missions, as there was little interest in the ombudsman's services, the public Czech Radio has reported. Foreign Minister Tomas Petricek told the radio that a more effective solution is sought, for example the creation of a contact point or the opening of digital access to some consular services. The consular ombudsman started working in August and only 20 people have sought out the office's help since then.
