Czech Child Crisis Centre sees more cases during coronavirus crisis

July 31st, 2020

The number of children who have experienced psychological abuse or a threatening environment has increased at Prague's Child Crisis Centre (DKC) due to the anti-coronavirus measures implemented in Czechia, the DKC said at a press conference. The measures used to fight coronavirus made it harder to provide aid to endangered children, the DKC said, noting that the number of admitted children in the first months of this year has been larger than for the whole of 2019. For example, the number of children who have been physically abused in 2019 was 94. In 2020, the number has been 79 so far.
