November 14th, 2019
The Czech News Agency (CTK) will open its doors to the public for the second time in its 101-year history on Saturday, a day before the 30th anniversary of the November 17, 1989 Velvet Revolution that toppled the Communist regime in Czechoslovakia. CTK will welcome the first visitors to its seat in Opletalova street in Prague centre at 8.30am, while the last guided tour of the agency will start at 3.30pm. The Velvet Revolution meant a breakthrough change for CTK as until 1989 it had been a state agency and now it works as a public medium.
