Court blocks Slovakia's assets in Luxembourg on behalf of Achmea

A Luxembourg court has ordered the blocking of 29.5 million euros of assets owned by the state of Slovakia on behalf of Dutch company Achmea, which is the owner of Slovak health-insurer Union, Bert Rensen from Achmea said on Thursday. Slovakia lost the lengthy process against Achmea in December 2012. The international arbitration court decided that the country must compensate Achmea for damage related to a ban on health-insurers retaining their profits introduced by Robert Fico's first government.
