Close to ten percent of Czechs below income poverty line - stats

March 21st, 2019

About 9.6 percent of Czechs were threatened with income poverty last year, with the figure rising from 9.1 percent a year ago, but still being one of lowest in the EU, the Czech Statistical Office said. A person is considered poor if his/her income is under 60 percent of the median income. Last year, the sum was 11,963 crowns a month for individuals. The sum was 768 crowns higher than in 2017.
