Chamber of deputies rejects Klaus's son as committee head

April 17th, 2019

The Czech chamber of deputies rejected on Wednesday Vaclav Klaus, Jr., the son of former president Vaclav Klaus, as the head of its education committee at the proposal of the Civic Democratic Party (ODS) from which he was expelled. As a member of the committee, Klaus was replaced with Karel Krejza, proposed by the ODS. Now, the committee will elect its new head. Under the deal on the distribution of posts in the lower house, the ODS can fill the post of chairman of the chamber's education committee.
