Caputova commemorates Stefanik in France

Slovak President Zuzana Caputova on Thursday laid a wreath at the Milan Rastislav Stefanik memorial on the grounds of the observatory in Meudon, France. The Slovak statesman worked as an astronomer at the observatory, which is only a few kilometres from Paris, in the early 20th century. The president stressed Stefanik's message during her meeting with French President Emmanuel Macron on Wednesday. She said that Stefanik, who was killed in an air crash 100 ago, contributed to the historically good relations between Slovakia and France, adding that the latter played an important role in the creation of the first Czechoslovak Republic.
