Prime Minister Andrej Babis's ANO may gain eight seats in the May elections to the European Parliament, according to the first estimates the EP offered to journalists today. From Czech parties, the Civic Democratic Party (ODS) may gain four, the Pirates three, the Social Democrats also three and the Communists two. The anti-EU Freedom and Direct Democracy (SPD) may gain one seat in the new EP. As a result, TOP 09 and Christian Democrats (KDU-CSL), now members of the strongest European People's Party (EPP) group, would remain outside the EP.
