Alena Zs. denies guilt in ex-Hurbanovo mayor murder case

The trial of those who stand accused in the case of the premeditated murder of former Hurbanovo (Nitra region) mayor Laszlo Basternak resumed on Tuesday, with the defendants presenting their final statements. A prosecutor of the Special Prosecutors Office proposed on Monday that the defendants should be sentenced to 25 years in a maximum security prison. According to the prosecution, the hit was ordered by Roman O., Basternak's political rival in a local election for the post of mayor. Roman O. allegedly passed the order to intermediary Alena Sz.
