An amendment to the abortion law has been postponed for debate in parliament until towards the end of the September session, according to an agreement reached by the leaders of the ruling coalition parties on Wednesday, parliamentary health committee chair Jana Ciganikova has announced. The amendment aims to boost social support for women who claim that they need to have an abortion due to financial reasons. Apart from that, the bill extends the period of consideration for women before having an abortion on demand from 48 hours to 96 hours.
